A study on the male gaze and beauty, Desire & Resistance merges traditional figure drawings with mandalas to bring attention to the fleeting interpretations of the female form. Shown as a series in 4 collections, Trishia first focuses on intimate, desirable moments through depicting and withholding that which can be seen as traditionally beautiful or erotic, and gradually moves into equally intimate, yet more resistant depictions of strength, sexuality and identity.

Utilizing mandalas as her lens, the female as her subject, and minimal coloring to focus on the intentionality and detail throughout each piece, Trishia is able to honor desire in its many forms, while showing the true power of the feminine.
